Turnovers lead to Canton's defeat, 46-21

WESTLAND- Canton High School found itself at the mercy of Westland John Glenn in the fourth quarter on Friday night, surrendering 25 points in the final 12 minutes before losing 46-21.

The Chiefs committed six turnovers (three fumbles and three interceptions), including a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Reggie Joyner had 19 carries for 82 yards and one touchdown for Canton (1-1).

"Our defense was put in a bad position by our first quarter because of turnovers," Canton coach Tim Baechler said.

Livonia Churchill 21, Salem 2 -At Salem, Livonia Churchill (2-0) jumped to a 13-0 first-quarter lead and extended it to 21-0 in the third. Matt Trublowski led Salem (0-2, 0-1 Western Lakes Activities Assocation) with 44 rushing yards on 15 carries. The Rocks were held to 184 total yards.
