Julian Smith rushed for two touchdowns, and Jake Powers had 10 tackles and a pass break-up as the Canton High School football team beat Westland John Glenn, 39-0 on Friday.
The Chiefs (8-0, 5-0 Western Lakes Activities Association) clinched the WLAA championship with the victory. The Chiefs, who held John Glenn to 133 yards in total offense, had clinched the Western Division.
With the win, Canton coach Tim Baechler broke the school record for victories. Baechler is 52-20 in seven years at Canton.
